Ric Markmann, Dan Pinnella, and Chris "Wag" Wagner founded Matter in 1997.
The plan was to form a fun and creative musical cooperative that could bring our talents together and create distinctively remarkable work in every medium.
We do what we love, and that means we make music because we like to. It happens to be a perk that we can also make a business out of it. We've all been in bands, we've all dealt with the music industry, but at the end of the day it's making music that makes all the ups and downs worthwhile.
We don't have a lot of pretenses (although some) but we know what we are good at (everything), and our strong suit is versatility. We don't sound or work like anyone else out there, and we have succeeded at being unique. We are a fun bunch who still come to work everyday with enthusiasm and excitement. |

We get paid to do what we love, and that doesn't suck. When we are not making music, you can still find us at the studio. Isn't that convenient?
Embracing ever-changing technologies and techniques, our passions lie in the continued development and evolution of our musical craft. From orchestral to electronic, rock, country, jazz, hip-hop or classical, we are eager to share our knowledge and ability to communicate musically.
After 11 years, our work still gives us great satisfaction. The emphasis remains on maintaining a high quality of work and life. Our experience in television ranges from comedy to drama to animation, including main title theme songs and weekly cues for television series.
